Good news, though. I asked the people at Infogrip, who make the illustrious BAT keyboard, when (if ever) a Mac OS X compatible version would appear. They said:
"We have no plans to update the current Mac version. You can however use the current PC USB BAT on a Mac. The problem is you will be missing the Apple key, which I know is important. It does everything else. In the next update to the PC BAT we will fix this problem so will do all Apple keys as well. About a year....
Please let me know if you have any questions."
I don't have any questions for him, but I do have some for myself. Having already blown over a hundred dollars on one frivolous one-handed keyboard, am I in such a rush to play with the BAT that I will blow over two hundred for it? I think not. However! I have the money, which is unusual. I also know that I will not have the money after I pay for two semesters of books. (Or, if I do have the money, I won't have enough other money to make the purchase seem okay.) So, I doubt I am that impatient. So, am I impatient enough to want a left-handed PC USB BAT (Oh god! Attack of the Acronyms!) for this upcoming birthday, when my only option for making it really usable would be to have Strickland find out whether he can hack the keyboard drivers and write a new one that includes the Apple key? Or do I have the patience (and forgetfulness) to put it off until after the PC update that includes Apple keys?
Hmm.
For now, I spend my time looking at Amazon for schoolbooks, because I am oh so lazy!
Also. Apparently, starting next week, Chey (the woman with whom I share my office) will be moving to the office where my pseudo-boss is currently, with two other friendly people! Psuedo-boss lady is moving out of there and in with two other people (who are very cheerful and nice people, but who also irk me a little since they let their stuff for me pile up until the last minute)! So the nice people will all be right next to me, and I will be all by my lonesome. Intriguing! I doubt I will ever get work done now.
